PARENT FAQs

It is our desire to partner with parents to help equip our students to become fully-formed followers of Jesus Christ. Below are some frequently asked questions we have answered to help better understand what you can expect from Student Ministries.

We take the safety of your student seriously and our number one priority is to create safe environments and experiences for your student. We are intentional about security and accountability, every event and opportunity has been planned with specific policies and procedures we require all participants to adhere to.

From helpful conversations, to resources and even counseling, Southwest Students is here to partner with parents! A good start is getting your student plugged into a small group. We believe that you can't do life alone and that every student needs the support of a healthy small group community that is there for them, that challenges them, and that helps foster an authentic faith. If you need additional help or information, feel free to to contact us at students@southwestchurch.com... we would love to talk with you!

YOUNITE is a student experience like no other! Once a month, small groups take the night off and students come together in one amazing service to sing, learn, and of course have fun!

Yes, we combine both youth groups during games and worship, but afterwards, each group goes to their appropriate service made just for them.

Absolutely yes! We will announce the dates for winter camp in February as soon as possible. The dates for summer camp are currently being worked on.

We understand that you are busy, and our goal is to make things easier for you! We encourage you to sign up for our newsletter and text notifications for parents. We promise not to spam you!

We have an amazing student ministry team dedicated to helping students grow in their relationship with God. Genesis Cruz (genesisc@southwestchurch.com) leads the middle school ministry, while Huntr McMillan (huntrm@southwestchurch.com) leads the high school ministry. Our fabulous admin, Alexis Safoyan (alexiss@southwestchurch.com), holds us all together. Of course, we couldn’t do any of it without our faithful volunteers week after week. We encourage you to reach out to us if you should have any questions or concerns!

In an effort to better serve our student athletes, we have decided to move our services to Sunday night. After much prayer and consideration, we believe this change will allow our students to prioritize growing their relationship with God and their community, without having to choose between it and their extracurricular activities. We believe that this is a positive change for our youth, and we look forward to partnering with you to make Sunday a lifestyle.
